Summer is upon us and the country shows up and down the country are in full swing. Whether you’re there to sample local foods and crafts, admire the farming machinery, take your chances in the dog show or appreciate the magnificent livestock, A Farley want to make sure you’re ready for your fun filled day out.

If you’ve never been to a country show before, you may be wondering what to wear? If you have, you may be looking for a bit of outfit inspiration. The most important thing to remember and keep in mind when planning your outfit, comfort! A day out at a country show can be long and you will walk far, so think about how practical your outfit is. British weather is unpredictable, so think layers! We recommend a Dubarry Clematis Shirt, which the sleeves can be rolled in warmer weather, layered with the Dubarry Blackwater Jumper, a pair of RM Williams Alice Skinny Jeans and a Barbour Beadnell Wax Jacket, lightweight enough it can be thrown into a bag yet waterproof to protect you from those surprise showers!

Being on your feet all day, we recommend you wear safe, reliable but comfy and not forgetting stylish footwear. If you’re familiar with country Shows you will be familiar with seeing RM Williams and Dubarry, Fairfax and Favour left right and centre. Perhaps a RM Williams Comfort Craftsman Boot, stylish yet well known for durability with the rubber sole or perhaps the famous Galway Dubarry boots or the Fairfax & Favor Imperial Explorer, perfect come rain or shine. However, with the recent temperatures soaring and you might fancy something a little lighter, perhaps a Dubarry or Barbour Sailmaker Deck shoe to go with your summer chinos or flowery dress. If it’s a washout (and fingers crossed it’s not) the traditional Wellington boot is also great option!

The key to dressing up any outfit! A Hicks & Brown Guinea and Pheasant Felt Fedora transforms any outfit and instantly jazzes it up, with the addition of the Dubarry Tullynally Pheasant Silk Scarf you will really look the part. A moderate sized bag with a cross body strap is essential, big enough to hold a bottle of water, your purse, keys and any sneaky purchases! We love the Fairfax & Favor Pembroke Handbag or the Fairfax & Favor Windsor Handbag.

Enjoy the local food, drink plenty of water, don’t forget the sunscreen and most importantly enjoy your day out!
